Message	3 gear kit includes gears #1,2,3 5 gear kit includes gears #1,2,3,5 4th gear is always stock. The first three gears are taller than stock, so they will hurt acceleration from a stop (for drag racing), but since they are more closely spaced together, you have better gear selection for road racing. The optional 5th gear is shorter than stock, so it will limit top speed, but is more closely spaced to 4th, which might be useful for higher speed road race tracks.
